Stuff I love right now...

Ok I just had possibly one of the best weekend EVER - yay me! Didn't manage to take many pics tho, mostly owing to us being lazy bums both days then partying at night, hehe. So I thought I'd mix it up a bit with this post. After you enjoy this pic of me and Sean doing our crazy faces...
this guy is awesome :P

Ok, my latest favourite books are the 'Hunger Games' trilogy by Suzanne Collins. First of all, don't be put off by the recommendation by Stephanie Meyer on the cover, these books are way better than that! It basically follows a girl, Katniss, living under a flawed government in the future, in a world where teenagers are selected to compete in the 'hunger games', where they fight to the death for food for their families. After receiving the first book for Christmas, I was hooked and read the 2nd one in about 2 days. I will say, the series didn't end as I hoped, but was still better than Inkdeath (never been so disappointed in the ending of a book trilogy...)
Now I'm not one for trash tv, frankly I'd rather watch a movie than any tv, but I know I'm not the only person watching 'My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding' with my mouth open in shock/awe/disgust. Makes for ridiculously fascinating viewing!
Speaking of movies, my favourite so far this year (39 and counting!) has to be Tangled. Disney are definitely back on form with this movie, even if they did bow to the pressure of 3D, which surprisingly enhances this rather well. I laughed and cried, what more do you need really?!
I have a new sweet obsession - as if my teeth needed any encouragment... In fact I have 2 - first is these Maoam stripes, which are just awesomely tasty. I think they came to my attention when I read this a few months ago, and being me had to investigate!

And Snickers have done it again - a new bar, basically regular Snickers minus the nougat, somehow tastes even better, altho annoyingly there only seems to be one place near me that stocks them - the supermarkets better catch up quick!

:)

  1. I love Big Fat Gypsy Weddings and I'm astounded by the apparent on-line vitriol levelled at the traveller community of which I've read exerpts in the Guardian and Observer. xxx

  2. Big Fat Gypsy Weddings is incredible viewing. I find myself being totally shocked at some of the things on it but then theirs is a completely different life to ours and they are probably just as shocked at some of the things we do.

I too saw Tangled. Took a while to get into it because it seemed long by Disney standards but it was good. x

  3. You learn something every day (she says, re maoams!) I've heard other people say great things about 'Tangled', and am looking forward to watching it.
I'm very much enjoying your pretty blog!

  4. I've been meaning to read Hunger Games -- have heard such good things about it from all of my friends. (Plus I'm planning on becoming a kid/YA librarian so I figure I kind of HAVE to at some point!)

  5. Ahahaha, that link about Moam is hilarious! Do people have nothing better to do?!

I think MBFGW is absolutely fascinating. Totally alien culture to me (I cannot even imagine leaving school at 12 and being a housewife all my life) but so, so interesting. People are being unbelievably prejudiced about it.
