Legen...wait for it....dary!

Here's a sample of some awesomeness that went on during the time in the past week that I've not been at work...
  • We blagged some Orange Wednesday codes and went to see 'X-Men First Class', amazing movie, if a little long (and a little too much Jennifer Lawrence for my liking...)
  • We ate the most amazing burgers here on Saturday then I wanted an 'adventure', so Sean took me here. It was rather fun...
  • ...altho we did both feel a bit ill after one too many rides on the swingy things
  • Some of us were a bit knackered after the last rollercoaster and tried to sleep on my knee
  • As a result, the night was spent eating rolls and soup and actually falling asleep while watching retro movies
  • Now for the highest point of my weekend - the Race for Life! After a rocky start (forgot my sports bra and had to make a dash to Asda for any other one close to my size), I managed to beat my best 5K time by 9 WHOLE MINUTES and finished at a not too shabby 20mins 54 seconds! I actually did a double take when I saw the finish line then the clock, its spurred me on to possibly train for the Great Scottish Run 10K in September - its amazing how much more focused my mind was when there were actual runners all around me as opposed to my usual stint on the treadmills at my gym full of old people. I'm not a competitive person at all, but I got a kick out of passing other runners - near the end I stopped for a second to use my inhaler and 2 people passed me, was like 'don't think so!' haha! Turns out the Glasgow race was the biggest in the country - when I was leaving there were hundreds of people waiting to start, so glad I managed the run!
  • Lucy also did an amazing job in her Race for Life last week, plus she's about to climb 3 mountains in 24 hours - go tell her how awesome she is!
Hope everyone else had a fabby weekend, if you got some sunshine I'm rather jealous!

:)

  1. Ooh bravo on the run time. It must have been legen-... wait for it... and I hope you're not lactose intolerant because the second half of that word is DAIRY...

Ah, do permit me a bit of HIMYM quoting. I heart Barney.

I really enjoyed X Men. Hopefully off to see Senna tomorrow.

  5. Wow, you ran that 5k almost twice as fast as me, I feel such a chump now haha! I'm doing a 10k in July so you should definitely do that one in Spetember, I feel better if other people are suffering too! Thanks for the mention but don't call me awesome til I've done it! (eek)

Love the look of those swingy things, and I haven't been to the cinema in SO LONG :( xx
