Friday Films

I had a bit more luck on the film front this week - I saw The Great Gatsby twice in two days (once with Sarah!) and it was pretty darn good, a LOT like Moulin Rouge, you can tell it's a Baz Luhrmann movie.  Magic Mike was way better than I expected (although it would have had a completely different vibe if it was female instead of male strippers...) and Cloud Atlas was confusing initially but rather interesting in the end.  Although the most futuristic story line could have done with subtitles, I had no clue what was happening until near the end.
The rest were a mixed bag - Mirror Mirror was terrible and Paper Man was only saved by Emma Stone.  Lovely and Amazing was neither lovely nor amazing, but I rather liked Iron Man (although it was far less sleek than the latest one!).  Normally I'm a huge fan of Jane Austen movies but Persuasion was weird and too modern looking.  Everything else was good for wasting an hour or two.

What have you been watching this week?

:)

  1. Blimey, you've managed to fit a lot of movies into the last week. I can't remember the last time I watched one!

    1. Ha it depends how my shifts are set out, if I get a week with a few days off I just get my knitting/sewing out and stick the films on! :)
