A (birth) day in the life

I did one of these posts last year and it was very fun, a nice way to document a 'special' day.  I don't normally care too much about my birthday but it seems like the perfect time to do a Photo an Hour type post.  Maybe I'll start doing them more often!

My birthday was actually at the end of July but it's taken me until now to get around to sorting out my pictures.  The day started as usual, slightly later since I was getting the train to work, which worked out well since I got a copy of Shortlist for the journey.  Tam thinks it's mad how excited I get about free magazines but...free magazine!  Work began with a note from a colleague, telling me she'd found an interesting film of my home town for us to watch - I love when I get to 'help' her with fun tasks.  The rest of the day was spent winding films and eating cake, then a bunch of us and Tam went out for dinner afterwards.  There was a free screening of From Scotland With Love on at Glasgow Green.  The soundtrack was being played live and it was just fantastic hearing and seeing it all in that kind of environment.  It did pour with rain pretty much the entire time we were watching it, but as the end credits came up the sun came out!  Excellent timing as usual, Scotland.

We ended the night with more beer and a trip home that took twice as long as usual for no apparent reason.  Still, a good day overall.  I wouldn't mind having more birthdays if that was how they all turned out!

:)

  3. Happy birthday for last month! I love the idea of documenting a birthday with a photo an hour... I might try and do it next time I have a weekend birthday (what with the fact that whipping my camera out in a child-filled classroom is likely to get my out onto some kind of register).
