Did anyone take part in the Macmillan Coffee Morning a couple of weeks ago? I saw an ad on TV, my brain said 'cake!' and a kit was quickly ordered. Luckily, everyone else at my work is as keen on the sugary stuff as I am, meaning we had an excellent supply of goodies. See that last picture? Yeah, that's the leftovers... Needless to say, they didn't last the week! We had orange sponge and lemon slices, gingerbread and Anzac biscuits, chocolate log and a lot of those tubs of M&S mini cakes (our staff room runs on M&S baked goods). In case you didn't guess, I'm responsible for the sweet looking things that seem like they'd be more at home at a child's birthday party. One of my friends had her birthday a few days later so I took the opportunity to order some minion themed cake toppers for her - she's a fellow cake fiend and was super excited when she saw them.
Obviously, the main point of the day, besides eating cake for breakfast AND lunch, was to raise money for a great charity, and we did pretty well at that too. For a small work place, everyone was very generous with their funds (and cake making/buying skills) and it was a great success. Roll on next year!
