A whole new blog name

Foof and Faff is now Elise and Life!  As you can see, it's still a work in progress, but I wanted to get the main things done at the weekend when I had time to mess around a bit.  And when Tam was around to help me get the technical things done right.  He designed my lovely header (soon to be nicely fitted in place - I may not have got the measurements right when I requested one...) and helped me switch the domain name over.  I'll be tweaking other aesthetic bits this week and hopefully it'll be looking mighty fine soon.  In the meantime, here's the updated links to my other places around the web, although Bloglovin is still showing my old URL, but my profile name is good to go :)

I've been wanting to change blog names for a while - this little site had been around for more than four years now and it was past time for an update!  I (mostly) loved my old name but it was from a time when my friend and I had daft nicknames for each other and couldn't go a day without using them.  Now we've grown up a bit...!  I swithered for an absolute age over potential new names and finally settled on one...then realised someone had already thought of it.  Of course.  I thought up Elise and Life out of the blue a few weeks ago and decided right away that this was it - I like that it potentially encompasses every topic under the sun.  Life.  And I'm sure I'll continue blogging about everything that crosses my mind, and maybe even some new stuff.  Thank you to everyone who has read and commented and shared and supported my blog so far, you guys rock the most.

:)

  1. Lovely new header! I am sometimes tempted to change the name of mine, it's so unwieldy and long. Mostly I just succumb to laziness though!

    2. Oh yeah, I'd definitely keep the typewriter logo. I'm always a bit embarrassed about getting the lyric wrong - maybe I should start pretending I did in on purpose!

  2. Looks good! I like the new name, too - it's a bit more explanatory and lets people at least know a little more about your blog rather than just being a cute name :)

  4. Yay, lovely header. Sometimes it's time for a change. I flick between wanting to change my blog name and sometimes wanting to delete the whole thing altogether.

  6. Oooh, I like the new name! And 'tis very clever how it redirects us automatically! Is that easy to put in place?

    1. Eh I would say yes but I was still trying to figure out the instructions by the time Tam had it done! But parts of it were easy... ;)

  7. I think the name is absolutely spot on - perhaps a twist of fate that someone else had the name you chose before! I'm hunting you down on Ravelry and Goodreads now! I'm excited for your new direction :) jenny xx

    1. Yes let's go with that! ;) ooh cool, I keep meaning to actually use Ravelry notebook instead of just hunting for patterns, hopefully I'll remember...

  9. Ooh how exciting! Looking forward to reading about all your adventures under the new name. I often debate changing my blog name as it's so stupidly long winded. It was one of those "haha that sounds quite amusing, it'll do for now" as I just wanted to start writing. To be honest I didn't really expect the blog to grow that much and for actual people other than my best friend to be reading it! I think I need a techy boyfriend to update it, haha. Tam's done a great job with the new header and redirecting.

    1. That's exactly what I was shooting for in the beginning haha! I think that's the way to go until you decide if you're going to keep going anyway :)

    1. Yay thanks! It's not too awkward if you have time to mess around with the settings :)

  12. It's a good blog name! Definitely describes what the blog is all about, and people get to know your name straight away too. Changes like this do feel good, like when you would start a new school year and get a new uniform, pencil case, etc., but think I'll stick with mine. Only annoying things was that I had to add the j to the end of gingerella as it wasn't available by itself. Small things though. : )
