Yarn Along

coloured yarn double knitting chevron pattern

Knitting - Chevron Baby Blanket
I'm back to my old favourite pattern this week (see my previous makes - one, two and three) but I've gone a bit more colourful this time.  My friend's sister is due her baby in September and I don't know the sex, so I just picked colours that would work for either.  I know it's traditionally blue for boys and pink for girls, but I don't know anyone who still holds to that opinion so I think I'll be safe with these.

Gone Girl book Edinburgh postcard

Reading - Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
As was the case with Mad Men, I'm jumping on another bandwagon later than everyone else.  I found Gone Girl in a charity shop a few weeks ago and now that the film has appeared on Canadian Netflix, I had to get around to reading the book in preparation for viewing.  I'm not usually a fan of the crime genre, but I'm loving this so far - I've also not heard a bad thing about it so I was expecting to be the one that tore it apart, but it's not happening so far!  The bookmark is my favourite one.  It's a postcard drawn by Tam of an Edinburgh scene.  I'm just waiting for him to produce more...
